This whole journey would be so much more bearable if he could just go to sleep like the majority of the other passengers on the plane, but unless someone took a mallet to his head, the chances of him sleeping were zero.

Besides, he’d probably have to get up in a minute to let Hayley back into her seat. She was pretty cool. If he had to be stuck next to anyone today, then he’d probably opt for her. Only, that is, if Cheryl was unavailable, because right now he could definitely do with being sat next to his girlfriend, so they could get to the bottom of whatever the hell was going on.

Cheryl’s reply to his text hadn’t given him any real answers.
